The artist's ardor in completing his work solely with his own hands is marked by each painstaking stroke of his paint brush, giving birth to breathtaking beauty.
Satsuma ware is defined by its highly decorated design accentuated with gold. The adroitness and prudence of Japanese craftsmen is evident in this uniquely Japanese art, mesmerizing all viewers without end.
There are several schools of Satsuma ware, including Kyo-satsuma, Kobe-satsuma and Yokohama-satsuma. Each of them are characterized by the same intricate and bold gold ornamentation, but emit distinctively different impressions.
Shown here are works of the more graceful among the various styles, Kyo-Satsuma.
