Fuji-Torii Co. was first established in Asakusa, Tokyo, by Kakujiro Kurihara before WWII. Then his son, Keisuke Kurihara opened a Japanese antique shop in Ginza, Tokyo just after WWII. The shop was then moved in 1949 to the present site facing Omotesando Avenue of Harajuku, Tokyo, about a 7- minute walk from Meiji Shrine. Since then, we have been involved in the sales of not only antiques, but also the designing, producing and selling of contemporary crafts.
From authentic antiques to Japanese stationery, our merchandise is all made in Japan and is hand-painted and/or hand-made. Our selection is made based on one hundred years of knowledge and experience of the three generations. Many items besides those introduced on this website, are for sale at our shop.
