Our folding screens, which are 100% made in Japan, are made in the traditional way used in the Muromachi era (1336-1573). This process, which consists of 25 steps, is done by hand.
Folding screens were originally used as a partition in Japanese homes, however they are now often used to decorate walls as you will find Western homes. All our folding screens are hand-made in Japan and have been hand-painted by local artists.
